Early 20th Century Mahogany Seamans Chest

Early 20th century mahogany seaman's chest. Stencilled on the top and front J. B. A. NIMROD 1907.

The chest is of very good quality with the front and top made from one plank of well figured mahogany. The piece is in good condition with original iron fittings but does look to have been refinished at some point, presumably when its use changed from being a sea chest to becoming a piece of furniture.
