Originally from the North of England, Matt Hardman studied Fine Art at Mid Cheshire College, Northwich, later moving to Hastings to study 2D and 3D Design, where he won the Gene Creedy Award for Creative Excellence.
More recently, Matt took an Illustration Degree at the University of Brighton, winning the Vincent Lines Award for Creative Excellence.
Matt lives in Rye in East Sussex, where he is a member of the Rye Society of Artists.

Matt Hardman's work is really a celebration of the negative and the uneasy. It is a dream-like skew of his coastal environment, though at times it is not void of humour, built from his love of texture, structure, illustration and the graphic. His pictures and paintings show glimpses of a world that has a dynamic style and a feeling that sits a bit 'off-kilter' but with an essence of the Gothic.
